EXPERIENCE

At Copper & Code Electrical, owner and licensed contractor Matt Vitt brings more than a decade of hands-on electrical and construction leadership experience to every project. His journey in the trade began in Minnesota, where he graduated 2nd in his class from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in 2012 with a strong foundation in electrical systems and technical training.

Following graduation, Matt began his career with Triangle Electric, working as an apprentice electrician in the fast-paced oilfield environment of western North Dakota. In 2015, he relocated to Montana and joined Agri Industries, where his passion for the electrical trade continued to grow. Through years of dedication and field experience, Matt earned his Journeyman Electrician license in 2019.

Later that year, Matt and his family moved to Arizona where he joined Z-Modular as a Lead Electrician. Known for his work ethic, leadership, and ability to solve problems under pressure, he quickly advanced within the company — moving from Lead Electrician to Construction Manager, and eventually to Production Manager in 2025.

Driven by a mindset of constant growth and learning, Matt took the next step in his career by earning his Arizona CR-11 Electrical Contractor License in April 2026, officially becoming a licensed electrical contractor in the state of Arizona.

Matt takes pride in building relationships, leading with integrity, and delivering quality workmanship that customers can trust. Whether managing large-scale projects or helping homeowners with everyday electrical needs, he approaches every opportunity with professionalism, grit, and a genuine love for the trade. At the core of it all is someone who believes in working hard, continuing to grow, and fully embracing the game of life.

Associates Degree in Construction Electricity

Matt is a proud alumnus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College, where he began building the foundation for his career in the electrical trade. During his time at MSCTC, he developed a strong work ethic and passion for the industry while graduating 2nd in his class in 2012. Matt looks back on his years there with a lot of appreciation, crediting the program for helping shape both his technical skills and the drive that continues to push him forward today.

Journeyman License

Matt earned his Journeyman license in 2019 after 6 years of apprenticeship experience and over 8,000+ field hours working in both North Dakota and Montana. It validated years of hands-on experience and proved his knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and the trade itself. The discipline, leadership, and technical expertise he developed as a Journeyman helped pave the way for his rapid growth into management roles in Arizona.

CR-11 Licensed

Through years of working in the field, leading teams, managing large-scale production projects, and continuously learning the trade, Matt built the experience required to qualify for the CR-11 license. By passing both the Arizona electrical and business law exams, Matt officially became a licensed electrical contractor in the state of Arizona — a milestone that reflects his dedication, leadership, and commitment to growing both personally and professionally within the electrical industry.
